Golden

Golden

I’m draped in golden paisley with this dress using Simplicity 8013. I got this fabric from Hancock Fabrics before their stores went into closing last year and it made for the most beautiful flowy dress that I’ve ever made. What I love most about this dress are the sleeves and the fullness of the skirt, I feel like I’m gone in the wind fabulous! The print on this dress features that old school paisley print with warm brown hues throughout.  I’ve had this dress stashed in the closet for quite a while and wanted to capture its magnificent colors in this spring weather which kind of turned into a hot mess lol. This dress is fully lined and I didn’t take that into account of this very warm spring weather that we’ve had. I will admit that I absolutely love this dress but the next time I wear it, it will definitely be in the cooler seasons.

Pattern review:

What pattern did you use? Simplicity 8013

Would you sew this again? If I had an event to attend or I would make a more lightweight version and exclude the lining from the skirt portion.

Was it difficult to sew? The difficulty was cutting out so many pieces especially for the skirt. This dress called for a total of 8 yards including lining. This dress was very exhasting sewing all the pieces together but I am happy with the results.

Pattern size cut? 20, but 18 would have made for a better fit.
