African Fabrics have been very popular in the fashion industry lately with apperances from high fashion runways to small business boutiques. Its well known for its ultra bright colors and variety of prints. I recently lucked up on some killer deals at a garage sale that had tons upon tons of fabrics. I was in fabric heaven and spent $50 alone on fabric. With the recent closings of Hancock Fabrics, I was able to find some joy in shopping for fabric in an unusual place. Among the fabric I purchased I found some awesome Kente fabric for $1! So I decided to make a cute crop top with bell sleeves. For the sleeve pattern I used Simplicity 8013 which is also a pattern that I used to create a dress that I will be featuring on the blog soon. Let me know your thoughts on the recent influx of African Fabrics in the fashion industry and what designs you like best.
