My Favorite Designers from NYFW
If you are a lover of fashion or use social media avidly then you know that New York Fashion Week was in full effect recently. NYFW is a staple event in the fashion community for established and up and coming designers to display their latest collections. Below I have listed my top designers.
Christian Siriano’s collection was full of ultra-feminine silhouettes. I loved every bit of it from the colors to the variety of fabrics and textures. He always delivers and for him to only have been mainstream for a decade, he is in my top tier designers among those who have been in the industry for quite some time.
New York FASHION WEEK FEBRUARY 2018
Prabal Gurung’s collections was full fledge “I AM WOMAN”. He stated that his collection was inspired by the colors of his native country and it most definitely showed. The parade was definitely one-of-a-kind along with the sand mandalas created for the runway.
I recently discovered Laquan Smith via Instagram and learned that he has designed for some top celebrities that include Beyoncé, Rihanna, Cardi B and Kim Kardashian. What I loved about Laquan Smith’s collection was that it added that Urban Culture to the runway. His runway included music from N.E.R.D, Black Rob, Migos, Lil Kim and More. The collection was Dope with my favorite being the sequin jumpsuit and floor-length fur coat.
Over-sized, Over-sized, Over-sized from the Hats to the coats! Bright colors with old school flair. The large brim hats were definitely an attention grabber for me. I loved how the show featured all black hats with a variety of colors under the brim. The last look of Marc Jacobs shown above totally reminds me of Mortal Kombat’s Kung Lao so of course I’m all for it.
