Spring Fabric Haul
Hello everyone! Spring Break is officially over but I wanted to give you a haul of the most awesome fabrics that I purchased at Fabricmartfabrics.com. Since I began sewing almost years ago I became addicted to fabric. I would look at the stashes of fabric of people who knew how to sew and wondered how they accumulated it all; two years later I’m doing the same thing. During the break I decided to make a goal of sewing at least two items that will go towards my spring fashion. Needless to say, I exceeded my goal by making three items! The first item made was a pair of pants and the other two are jumpsuits. Y’all know I’m a true fan of jumpsuits and I can’t wait for the warm weather to roll on in so I can wear them, but let’s get back to the fabric. I purchased a total of 4 yards of each selection of fabric for this haul. It was a part of a sale on fabricmartfashions.com as their special pre-cut fashion buy out. The fabrics were exceptionally priced at $6.40/ piece (4 yards each). Can I say deal! That’s 16 yards of fabric for $26.00. Fabric Mart Fabrics has an awesome selection of fabrics to choose from ranging from active wear to wools. I faithfully check the website every morning to see what deals they have that day. The deals change daily and fabric sells out quickly so I advise that you purchase ASAP if you see something you like, especially if it’s Pre-cut Fashion Buy out. Below are descriptions of each fabric, its content and what I plan to make out of each. I hope you all are enjoying the last day of winter. Spring here we come!
Poly/Lycra ITY Knit
This fabric is absolutely AMAZING! I love this ITY knit, it has the perfect drape and feel to it. When I purchased this fabric, I actually didn’t notice the print but once I received it I knew it would be perfect for my jumpsuit I was wanting to make.
Cocoa Floral Rayon/Lycra Jersey Knit
This fabric is very cooling and will be perfect for the warmer weather. It features a floral print with accents of yellow, browns, and grays through the entirety of the fabric. I have not yet decided what to make out of this but I’m thinking a nice flowy dress.
Multi Astract Floral Polyester Crepe
The color of this fabric is absolutely gorgeous! This will soon become a nice dress with split and flowy sleeves. I have yet to tackle this project but that was my instant vision as soon as I recieved this fabric.
Black Floral Rayon/Lycra Jersey Knit
This fabric is very soft to the touch and features the same fabric content as the cocoa floral fabric. It has a white/gray floral print throughout and has made the most perfect halter neck jumpsuit for spring/summer.
